Why DataChonk exists
DataChonk was born from a simple observation: building a well-structured dbt project is hard. Not because the concepts are difficult, but because there's so much to remember - naming conventions, testing patterns, documentation standards, incremental strategies, package usage, and more.
We wanted to create an AI that truly understands dbt at an expert level. Not just surface-level knowledge, but deep understanding of why certain patterns exist and when to apply them. An AI that generates code you'd actually be proud to ship to production.
The result is DataChonk - a chonky corgi who happens to be a senior analytics engineer. It breaks down complex data warehouse design into manageable "chonks" that are easy to understand, review, and maintain.
